services for EXCLUDED WORKERS

Transforming lives through social and economic justice.

Who We Are

The mission of Heart of the House Foundation is to provide services to excluded workers and to support social justice movements that are organizing in low-income communities for long-term structural change.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the number of full-time workers who were furloughed from their positions, the Foundation established the Excluded Workers’ Assistance Fund to direct financial assistance to displaced, full-time workers and who do not qualify for federal or state benefits, such as Unemployment.

What We do

We work to broaden the social safety net for those who are disenfranchised due to:

  • Discrimination
  • Loss of employment
  • Denial of government benefits

In addition to the Excluded Workers’ Assistance Fund, we help by providing referrals, assistance, and advocacy
for justice reform.
